All our solids based packages include readers for importing files from all leading CAD programs. Some of the supported fileformats are IGES, PARASOLID, ACIS, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Pro/E/Wildfire, Catia v4 and v5, VDA, STEP, Rhino, Inventor, Mechanical Desktop, Unigraphics (some formats are optional).
GibbsCAM GO Solid Mill (2.5D modeling and machining on solids)
Build and import solid parts, fixtures and stockmodels. Add intelligent toolpaths directly on the solid. Our "Profiler" automatically traces largest diameter for turning and also detects pockets and islands for milling. The AFR (Automatic Feature Recognition) feature recognizes holetype/depth/diameter and automatically machines all or selected holespatterns in a solidmodel. Our clever alignment tools helps you place parts and fixture on the machinetable quickly. Machining supports 2-, 2.5-, and 3-axis Milling including positioning of both 4th and 5th axis (5axis position mills).
GibbsCAM GO Pro Mill (freeform 3D modeling and 3D machining)
The full 3D package adds freeform hybridmodeling (surface and solid) and hybridmachining, typically aimed for difficult production parts, medical, aerospace or mould & die work. Automatic core and cavity creation & machining, including smart repair tools for bad surfacemodels. Machining supports 2-, 2.5-, and 3-axis Milling including positioning of both 4th and 5th axis (5axis position mills). 5axis simultaneous milling is optional.
